The Centre for Capacity Building organized a Staff Expertise Series on Eighth Wonder of the World on 16.11.2024 by Dr M Shanthanalaksmi, Dean, School of Commerce, Nehru Arts and Science College, Coimbatore. The programme focused on the effects of compounding where earnings generate additional earnings over time, creating exponential growth. It occurs when interest or investment returns are reinvested, allowing money to grow faster as both the initial principal and accumulated returns earn interest. The effect is more powerful over longer periods, higher rates of return, and more frequent compounding. The participants developed a vibrant understanding on starting early and reinvesting returns are key to maximizing benefits. While compounding accelerates wealth building, factors like inflation and taxes may reduce its impact. It’s a cornerstone of financial growth.
