Over five decades ago, Nehru Group of Institutions was established and right from the beginning, the institution has followed a unique approach to serve the community, be it students or the public, in general, with a vision of providing service through education and humanitarian works. Our conglomerate of 20 colleges is one of oldest organizations dedicated in Coimbatore and Kerala that has consistently worked towards empowerment and social change through Aeronautics, Architecture, Arts, Engineering, Science, Medical, Research and Technical education in India.
Being bestowed with the monumental responsibility of leading NGI with such rich heritage is a challenge by itself. I am proud that the rise of our institutions is not from the high rise concrete structures and technological infrastructure, but comes entirely from its intricately intertwined learning process and human resources, which has been the focus on education during its 50 years of existence.
NGI was established primarily to promote research and collaborative educational programs that would eventually grow and develop into a globally known centre of excellence. It is also my belief that active engagement with corporate industry in the form of internship programs, group discussions, entrepreneur awareness programs and personal interactions with the top brass of the industry is essential for NGI to maintain thought leadership. Effective Teaching Methodology through transformational training, coaching, mentoring, and other instruments of leadership development will definitely see our students transform into entrepreneurs than mere job seekers.

Nehru Arts and Science College (NASC), Autonomous is one of the renowned Colleges in Tamil Nadu. The College is Affiliated to Bharathiar University, recognized by UGC with 2(f) & 12-B Status, Accredited with “A+” Grade (CGPA 3.50) in III Cycle by NAAC, ISO 9001:2015 (QMS) Certified Institution, 4 Star rating byInstitution Innovation Council (IIC) and considered under STAR College Scheme by DBT, Government of India. The College has been ranked in the bandwidth of 101-150 by NIRF. NASC is recognized as Band Performer under ATAL Ranking. The College has done remarkable contribution in higher education catering to the needs of the people in all walks of the society by offering quality education for 3500 students. It offers 13 Research, 08 Post Graduate and 27 Under Graduate Programmes in Arts, Life Science, Computational, Creative Sciences, Commerce and Management Streams.
We have the State-of-the-art facilities in all the departments to impart Outcome Based Education through Experiential Learning. The College is considered as a Nodal Centre for Spoken Tutorial of IIT Bombay, Recognized as study centre of TNOU, Recognized as a Mentoring Institution by Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE), HR Ministry, Government of India, for implementing SWATCHTHA action plan. The Institution is awarded with A+ in Green Cover on Campus, Surface Water Harvesting, Rooftop Water Harvesting, in National Rural Institutions Sustainability Grading (NRISG) by Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education, Ministry of Education. The College has been promoting Entrepreneurship through production units and New Gen IEDC projects. Our College has 25 New Gen IEDC Projects,06 Faculty CEO MSME Start-ups, 05 Alumni Start-Ups and 05 Student Start-Ups. Now the College has 25 Student Start-Ups Companies, 2 Alumni Start-Ups and 5 Faculty Star-Ups under faculty CEO scheme in the Technology Business Incubator, funded by NSTEDB, DST, India.
As part of ensuring Decentralization, the College is functioning as six different Schools. We have partnered with L&T, Infosys and IBM Oracle for Syllabus Framing, Add-On and Internship. Signed MoU with Coursera to ensure Online Credits as a compulsory component as per NEP 2020. Initiated Centre for Sustainable Development Goals and Indian Knowledge System and brought the same into the curriculum. We have signed MoU with Lincoln University, Malaysia for Students’ International Internship. The College has received Accolades and Awards from various National and International Agencies for its meritorious contribution and ranked Top in India by various Ranking Agencies like India Today, Times of India etc.
