Awareness Program on Drug Free India Empowered Future

The Department of Criminology and Forensic Science jointly with  Anti-Drug Committee and Cyber Security Club at Nehru Arts and Science College, successfully conducted the “Awareness Program on Drug Free India Empowered Future” on  January 31, 2025, to educate students about the dangers of drug abuse and the significance of a drug-free lifestyle. The event featured Thiru Soundararajan, Additional SP, Coimbatore, and A. Chitradevi, Inspector, Cyber Crime, Coimbatore, as chief guests. They shared real-life case studies from Coimbatore, highlighting the consequences of drug addiction and cyber crimes. Inspector Chitradevi emphasized the risks of digital fraud, urging students to avoid unverified apps that could steal personal data. Engaging discussions followed, with Ms. Aishwarya (II BA Criminology) questioning the role of political influence in criminal cases and Shaju (I BA Criminology) inquiring about digital arrests. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Shrutika (II BA Criminology), reinforcing the program’s success in spreading awareness and fostering a commitment to a drug-free future.
