The Centre for Indian Knowledge System (IKS),Nehru Arts and Science College (Autonomous), Coimbatore,organized “Odi Vilaiyadu Papa – 2026”, a Tamil Nadu TraditionalGames Competition, on 13 January 2026 in connection withPongal celebrations.The event was conducted at the Football Ground and wasexclusively organized for teaching and non-teaching staff.A variety of traditional outdoor games were conducted to revive and promoteindigenous play practices deeply rooted in Tamil culture.The games included Goli Gundu, Seven Stone (Mango),Oru Kudam Thanni, Green Horse,Poo Parikka Varugiren, and Pambaram.The programme aimed to promote physical well-being,cultural continuity, and community bonding,while emphasizing the relevance of traditional games within the framework ofIndian Knowledge Systems (IKS). The event witnessed enthusiasticparticipation and fostered a strong sense of unity and cultural pride among the staff members.
