About the Event
The Department of Criminology and Forensic Science organized an academic visit to the Police Museum, Coimbatore, on 04 August 2026 for I B.Sc. Forensic Science students. During the visit, students explored the history and development of the Tamil Nadu Police through various exhibits, including old police accessories and equipment, firearms, uniforms from different periods, ranks, badges, medals, and other policing-related artefacts. Police personnel explained the significance and historical background of the exhibits and interacted with the students, providing insights into police administration, law enforcement, crime investigation, and policing practices.
Outcome of the Event:
The visit provided students with valuable practical and historical exposure to policing and law enforcement. It helped them relate classroom concepts to real-world practices, understand the evolution of the Tamil Nadu Police, appreciate the role of police and forensic science in criminal investigation, and enhance their observational skills and professional awareness.
