The Centre for Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), in association with the Department of Mathematics, Nehru Arts and Science College, organized a seminar on “Mathematics in India: From the Śulbasūtras to the Kerala School” on 5 October 2026 at the A Block Seminar Hall. Dr. U. K. V. Sarma, Department of Amrita Darsanam, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, served as the Resource Person and shared valuable insights into India’s mathematical heritage. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. V. Vijayakumar, Principal, and Dr. K. Mythili Gnanapriya, Controller of Examinations. Dr. T. Chandra Pushpam and Dr. Smitha C. R. served as Convenors, while Ms. S. Ruth Kethsial and Ms. Krishnendu P. M. served as Coordinators. The seminar enhanced participants’ understanding of Indian mathematical traditions and their contemporary relevance.
