The Department of Visual Communication, Nehru Arts and Science College, through its Film Club “Les Cineastes”, organized “A Tribute to Bharathiraja”, a film review and appreciation activity. The event featured a special screening of the iconic Tamil film 16 Vayathinile, directed by legendary filmmaker Bharathiraja. The screening was followed by a discussion and review session that highlighted the director’s contribution to Tamil cinema, his realistic portrayal of rural life, innovative storytelling techniques, and cinematic style. The activity provided students with an opportunity to critically analyse film language, narrative structure, characterization, and visual aesthetics while deepening their appreciation of classic Indian cinema.
