About the Event
The National Service Scheme (NSS) and Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) units of Nehru Arts and Science College successfully organized a Census – 2026 Self-Enumeration Camp on 28.07.2026 in the adopted pachapalayam village in Nachipalayam village panchayat. Led by Principal Dr. V. Vijayakumar, Convenor Dr. A. Sri Devi, and Program Coordinators Dr. K. Narayanasamy and Dr. K. Parthasarathy, the initiative aimed to familiarize rural households with digital self-enumeration ahead of the India Census 2027. Key Outcomes-
Digital Literacy Boost: Over 50 village households were successfully educated on how to use their smartphones to securely access and fill out the upcoming national census portal.
Overcoming the Digital Divide: Student volunteers provided hands-on demonstrations, actively removing the hesitation rural residents often face with online government portals.
Community Engagement: The camp fostered strong community-institutional ties, with local village leaders and residents commending the college for driving grassroots digital awareness.
