About the Event

The Department of Microbiology organized a World Hepatitis Day awareness programme on 11/8/2026 to educate students and the public about viral hepatitis, its prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. The event aimed to create awareness about the importance of early detection, vaccination, safe hygiene practices, and regular health screening in preventing hepatitis-related complications. The event successfully enhanced participants’ knowledge about liver health, infection control practices, and community awareness, encouraging students to adopt responsible health behaviours and contribute to public health promotion.
