17th Memorial Day of Founder Chairman P.K. Das Observed at Nehru Arts and Science College

The 17th Memorial Day of the Founder Chairman, Shri P.K. Das, was observed on Tuesday, 09 June 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the P.K. Das Memorial Auditorium at Nehru Arts and Science College. The programme commenced with a floral tribute and a one-minute silence in memory of the visionary founder who laid the foundation for a group of institutions dedicated to academic excellence and holistic development. A documentary highlighting the life and achievements of Shri P.K. Das was screened, showcasing his commitment to promoting quality education. Dr. P. Krishnakumar, Secretary and Chief Educational Officer of Nehru Group of Institutions, presided over the function.And Dr.Chaitanya Krishnakumar MCA, Ph.D Nehru international school Kaliyapuram, paid tribute.
Dr. H.N. Nagaraja, Managing Director of Nehru Group of Institutions, graced the event. Subsequently, Dr. B. Anirudhan, Registrar of P.K. Das Deemed University, shared his memories of the late founder. Following this, Dr. V. Vijayakumar, Principal of Nehru Arts and Science College, spoke about the leadership qualities and remarkable contributions of Shri P.K. Das, Founder Chairman of the Nehru Group of Institutions.
The special guest, Saktha Sri Panchalingeswara Swamigal of the 51 Sakthi Peedam Mahasamsthanam, Coimbatore Kamatchipuri Aadheenam, delivered a spiritual address. The speakers fondly remembered Shri P.K. Das as a pioneer in education who transformed the educational landscape of South India. His guiding philosophy, “Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world,” continues to inspire generations.
During the event, 44 children of employees working in the Nehru Group of Institutions, who had successfully completed their 10th and 12th standard examinations, were honoured with mementos, school bags containing stationery items, shields, medals, and certificates.
The programme was attended by the principals, deans, heads of departments, faculty members, and non-teaching staff of all colleges under the Nehru Group of Institutions.
