Department of English has been functioning alongside the inception of the college since 1998. Department of English came into existence in 2015. The Department has highly qualified faculty and excellent infrastructure conducive to imparting Literature as well as Communication Skills. Most of the faculty holds Doctoral degrees and specialized qualifications in English Language Teaching (ELT) and Literature from Institute of repute in India. The Department has a well equipped Language Lab to provide training to students in Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing skills. It offers B.A and M.A in English Literature. It also offers M.Phil and Ph.D in English. The Department has produced 6 M.Phil and 2 Ph.D candidates successfully within a short span of time.  Apart from offering these regular courses, the department has several initiatives to promote Communication Skills and Personality Development of the students. It provides guidance and support to several literary events through the literary club ‘Literati’. This club involves in activities such as writing poems, organizing talks by Eminent Personalities from varied backgrounds, English Expo, Oratorical competitions, and conducting events for the benefit of students to improve their personality traits as well as communication skills. Since English has become ‘Lingua Franca’ of the world, it is the most sought after language of all. Learning about English literature will acquaint the students with the history of the English speaking world and force them to think deeply. English Literature tells us the history of the English speaking nations. It also teaches us many lessons that have universal themes, such as love, war, desire and many more. When we read literature, we become sophisticated in our thinking and our view of the world expands. Studying English Literature makes us better citizens. We can form opinions and convictions of our own and the reading of English Literature can aid us in the process.
